Canadian producer and DJ Peach has released new mini LP Soak Vol. 1, out now via Mood Hut.
The five-track project follows last year’s Fortune Three EP on Peach’s Psychic Readings imprint and marks a shift in her creative process, shaped by a recent tour across Asia and a visit to a neighbourhood sentō in Tokyo. Inspired by cycle-syncing and working in tune with natural energy changes, Peach approached the record with a more instinctive focus on rhythm, mood and pacing.
Throughout Soak Vol. 1, field recordings and ambient textures blend with weighty low-end, drifting synths and fractured percussion, creating a fluid sound built around themes of water, movement and accumulation.
The release also arrives as Mood Hut approaches its 15th anniversary, with upcoming projects from artists including Jack J and Pender Street Steppers set to follow later this year.
