London artist Steven Julien has announced his new album, 808 PRINCE, out 16th October, alongside lead single “60SS”.
Crafted around drum machines, the upcoming 10-track record combines raw drum programming, analogue textures and bass-heavy composition, moving between club-focused tracks and more experimental rhythm work across techno, house, acid house, grime and electro. The album also features collaborations with James Massiah, J. Caesar, Jarren, Touch Sensitive and KIAH.
The Apron Records founder will support the release with an 808 PRINCE Live Hybrid Set, combining DJ mixing with live performance on the Roland TR-1000, allowing him to manipulate drum patterns and rework track arrangements during shows.
