London-via-LA producer Carré has released a new EP, Citrine, via Tempa, featuring lead single “Spend It” with Atlanta rapper Mercury.
The new EP blends dubstep with rap and R&B influences. Carré said she began writing “Spend It” with Mercury’s voice in mind after discovering her album MERCZONE, sending over a beat that became the track. The release also includes “Sense of Place”, which moves into post-dubstep territory, the more direct “Static”, and “Enough”, combining low-end pressure with melodic elements.
Taking to IG, Carré explained: “I wanted to try something a little different with this – def built for the dancefloor.”
