Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for The Bride!, Maggie Gyllenhaal’s next feature following The Lost Daughter.
The film stars Jessie Buckley and Christian Bale, with Peter Sarsgaard, Annette Bening, Jake Gyllenhaal and Penélope Cruz rounding out the cast.
Set in 1930s Chicago, the film reworks the Frankenstein myth through a darker, anarchic lens. Bale plays a reclusive Frankenstein who seeks out radical scientist Dr. Euphronious (Bening) to create a companion. Their experiment resurrects a murdered young woman, played by Buckley, whose emergence as The Bride triggers a chain of violence and social rupture beyond its creators’ control.
Gyllenhaal directs from her own screenplay and produces alongside Emma Tillinger Koskoff, Talia Kleinhendler and Osnat Handelsman Keren. The film’s creative team includes cinematographer Lawrence Sher, editor Dylan Tichenor, composer Hildur Guðnadóttir and costume designer Sandy Powell.
Produced by First Love Films and In The Current Company, The Bride! will be released theatrically and in IMAX by Warner Bros., opening internationally on 4th March 2026, and in North America on 6th March, 2026.
