LOEWE Introduces The Amazona 180

LOEWE has unveiled the Amazona 180, a reissue of one of the house’s most iconic handbags, designed by Creative Directors Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez for their Spring/Summer 2026 debut runway collection.

The launch coincides with LOEWE’s 180th anniversary, reinterpreting the original Amazona, first introduced in 1975, for a contemporary audience. Created during a period of social change in Spain, the original design marked a shift toward more functional silhouettes tailored to women entering the workforce, departing from the era’s rigid handbag structures.

The Amazona 180 retains key signatures of the archival model, including its domed side panels and structured yet supple construction. Crafted with two carefully assembled compartments, precise leather binding and refined interior detailing, the updated design balances heritage codes with modern craftsmanship, reaffirming the Amazona’s place within LOEWE’s leather legacy.
