Arca announces new album ‘XXXXX’

Arca has announced her new studio album, XXXXX, set for release on 31st July via XL Recordings.

The 16-track project marks the Venezuelan artist’s first full-length release since completing her acclaimed KICK series.

Described as a darker and more experimental body of work, XXXXX explores themes of transformation and contradiction, expanding on Arca’s boundary-pushing approach to electronic music. Originally conceived as a mixtape, the album evolved into a full-length project that embraces instinct and unpredictability.

Ahead of the release, Arca will debut Diva.Experimental, a two-hour livestream directed by Daniel Sannwald and styled by Akeem Smith, premiering on 23 July via Twitch and YouTube. Filmed across seven locations in Barcelona, the immersive performance will feature unreleased material from the album.

The announcement follows another prolific year for Arca, including collaborations with Tokischa, production work for Madonna, remixes for Addison Rae, Robyn and Hikaru Utada, as well as her first painting exhibition at London’s ICA and the soundtrack for Stillz’s film Barrio Triste.
