Electronic producers Ninajirachi and Porter Robinson have released their long-awaited collaboration, “WannaCry”, following months of live teasers.
Inspired by the infamous 2017 WannaCry ransomware attack, the track transforms its digital origins into a shimmering electronic anthem, combining Ninajirachi’s intricate production with Porter Robinson’s melodic pop-infused sound. The result is a vibrant meeting of two artists whose shared love of internet culture and forward-thinking electronic music has made them leading voices in the genre.
More than a decade in the making, the collaboration holds personal significance for Ninajirachi, who first saw Porter Robinson perform at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre as a teenager before returning to the same venue earlier this year to headline her own sold-out show.
