Dekmantel heads to Bali for their first-ever Southeast Asia takeover

Amsterdam festival Dekmantel will hold a one-day event in Southeast Asia for the first time on 26th September, teaming up with Desa Potato Head Bali in Seminyak.

The collaboration grows out of years of visits and shared lineups between the two teams, including trips to Bali by Dekmantel founder Casper van Tielrooij and Interstellar Funk (Olf van Elden), and a visit to the Amsterdam festival by the Potato Head team.

The day will open with listening sessions, talks and a “Desa Dialogue” discussion series, before moving into a night party across Potato Head Beach Club and Klymax. Avalon Emerson closes the night with her first-ever Southeast Asian show, alongside Dekmantel Soundsystem, Fafi Abdel Nour, Ogazón, Soichi Terada (Live), Danny Satria (Live), Archie, Bagvs, Dita, Kaazi, Kiwed and Sattle.

The lineup brings together international artists from Europe, the US and Japan with Bali and Indonesia-based talent, including Danny Satria, Dita, Kiwed and Sattle, as part of a bill spanning house, techno, electronica and beyond.

Speaking on the news, Casper from Dekmantel explained: “We have built a personal relationship with the people from Potato Head over the years. We exchanged artists, they played at our festivals, and we were invited to play at PH, so collaborating felt like a natural next step.”
