300SkullsAndCounting and Jenny Sparks have signed to XL Recordings, releasing “The Ballad of St Nick’s Park”, the first track from their upcoming collaborative project.

The song combines 300SkullsAndCounting’s screamo vocals and chiptune influences with Jenny Sparks’ bassline-driven production, described as a fully collaborative pairing rather than a traditional vocalist-producer setup. It arrives with a music video filmed partly in Leamington’s Spar shop, referencing the now-closed St Nick’s Park skatepark from 300SkullsAndCounting’s upbringing around Warwick and Leamington Spa.

300SkullsAndCounting draws on the UK DIY emo scene, blending screamo, breakcore and chiptune with hip-hop and electroclash influences, known for performing live with a pink karaoke microphone. Jenny Sparks is a London bassline producer who has developed his sound across a series of DIY studio spaces over the past six years.
