Donato Dozzy has announced his new double LP, Astro, out 20th November on Tresor Records, alongside title track “Astro”.
The upcoming album draws on Dozzy’s childhood fascination with Japanese cartoons and vinyl toy figurines, sparked by a wave of Italian-dubbed shows featuring giant robots in the late 1970s and ’80s. The title track samples the theme from Astro Robot Contatto Ypsylon, one of the first records Dozzy owned, marking the first time he has directly sampled a track in his own work.
A short documentary accompanying the album is also set for release alongside on 20th November.
