Sophia Stel has released her debut album, the greatest album of all time, a 12-track record self-produced by the Vancouver artist.
The album moves between moods, from the quiet trepidation of “I’ll Walk” to the club-ready “Burn” and the downtempo, trance-like “On My Dick”. It blends euphoric, deconstructed club tracks reminiscent of classic Euro-rave with ambient synths, modulated vocals and confessional lyricism, capturing the highs and lows of a new life in the spotlight.
Speaking on the project, Stel explained: “The album is about believing in yourself and believing in love and is dedicated to my brothers Luke and Royce”.
Lead track “Power” arrives with a video directed by Stel, Aaron Lum and Scarlet Ross, moving from the boardroom to the living room to the club. The album was previewed by singles “I Do”, “Bitches Talk Shit”, which caught the attention of Robyn, “Molly In The Club” and “Now I’ve Got A Lot You Know”.
