Eris Drew and Octo Octa have released their debut album as Alchemical Sisters, a self-titled double album out now on Interdimensional Transmissions.
Widely renown for their all-vinyl back-to-back DJ sets, Maya Bouldry-Morrison (Octo Octa) and Eris Drew describe the project as “psychedelic chaos, acid rollers and big beat” played through hardware instruments. The record was made in the forests of New Hampshire, where the pair emptied the master bedroom of their cabin and turned it into a studio, sleeping on the floor for a year while combining dulcimers and ancestral instruments with turntables and vintage machines.
The album was then mixed by BMG over two weeks in Detroit at the Interdimensional Laboratory, using a high-end console and hardware to give the music a visceral, euphoric sound. The duo will make their live debut as Alchemical Sisters at the label’s Samhain XXVI event.
