Mary Yuzovskaya

By way of NYC, Berlin and before that Moscow, vinyl only techno DJ, producer and record label owner Mary Yuzovskaya has been cultivating her unique orbit in the electronic dance music firmament for over 13 years.

Having graced the decks of all Moscow’s hotspots back in the mid-2000s, Mary moved to Berlin, where she became recognised for both her blisteringly-precise vinyl-only techno sets and her painstakingly professional approach to the craft of DJing. After relocating to NYC in 2013 Mary quickly became a key figure in the US scene, performing regularly at different venues including multiple residencies at some of the city’s institutional parties like Unter, where she was a staple for three years, as well as working as a vinyl distribution manager at renowned Brooklyn-based record shop Halcyon. Back in Berlin since 2020, Mary solely runs her very own record label called Monday Off, launched in 2017, where she curates and presses work from artists that explore techno’s trippier, more hypnotic side. Maintaining the connection with North America, she currently holds a residency at Public Records club in Brooklyn.

Mary is currently gearing up for Monday Off’s tenth release which features fellow artists Blazej Malinowski, Craft and Ruhig for a hypnotic affair releasing December 6th.

Abstract man – Swarm [On The 5th Day]

Abstract Man is a wonderful duo from the UK, and I’m a big admirer of their work. I think I might have their every record in my vinyl collection! Each track they release is stunning and exactly to my taste, but I think this one I play the most and honestly can’t imagine my sets without this record.”

Blazej Malinowski & Claudio PRC – Future Retro I [012]

“Blazej and Claudio have always been some of my all time favourite producers, sources of inspiration and role models. I was beyond excited when they announced a collaboration EP, it was long awaited for me. All three tracks are beautiful, and this one is an absolute dance floor burner. My personal summer 2021 hit.”

Gianluca Meloni – Ostinate Sin (Dino Sbabtini remix) [Outis Music]

“This is a true classic in my books. While putting this feature together I went to discogs to find this record and realised it’s actually 10 years old already! I can’t believe it, time sure flies… Dino Sabatini is one of those artists I’ve been following since the very early days of my career, he’s one of those who’s responsible for what I sound like today. I’m an old time die hard fan of everything Dino does, he’s a true maestro and this record confirms that. See how contemporary it sounds today? Timeless.

Svreca – Peels A Tangerine (Ulwhednar Remix) [SEMANTICA]

I adore everything Semantica so of course my top 5 can not be imagined without a release from this iconic label. It wasn’t easy to pick one favourite, but I think this remix of Svreca’s “Peels A Tangerine” made by Ulwhednar, a project by Anthony Linell & Varg2tm is the one I played the most once the clubs started reopening after the pandemic. I believe I played it at literally every party since it came out.

Rune Bagge – Light Up The Sky [Northern Electronics]

“This is such a beautiful, emotional, atmospheric and powerful track! And it’s so well balanced… Every time I hear it I just want to be on the dance floor, as close to the speaker as possible! And screw the ear plugs!”
